A range of stolen property, including fishing gear, has been found after a police raid on a unit on Cramer Street in Warrnambool. Detective Sergeant Andrew Raven, of the Warrnambool Police Criminal Investigations Unit, said officers executed a warrant at the unit at around 8.30am on Monday. Stolen property was recovered including a range of Makita power tools, fishing gear, telescopic equipment and thousands of dollars in cash. He said police believe part of the property was stolen in burglaries at an address on Jamieson Street the previous Saturday night and Wilson Street on Sunday. “Part of the property has been returned to its owners, but there is fishing gear that we don’t know who belongs to,” he said. “We are asking anyone who has had fishing gear stolen to contact us and claim the items.” On Tuesday afternoon plainclothes detectives arrested a 38-year-old man from Warrnambool. “He has been charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft and released on bail to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court in July.” IN OTHER NEWS Our reporters work hard to bring local, up-to-date news to the community.
