More and more boat anglers are using fixed spool reels when boat fishing and for 2007/2008 Shakespeare have added this purpose built rod to their SALT range. Using the same high specifications as the standard boat rod this short butt, long tip rod has been developed with the correct action and ringing for use with larger fixed spool reels.
