This is an extra fine wire version of the Demon circle hook from Mustad. Circle hooks were originally used by commercial fishermen and are becoming increasingly popular amongst leisure anglers alike. Circle hooks are designed with an inwardly curved point so that when a fish swallows the hook, the hook can be pulled out of the stomach and into the jaw or the corner of the fish's mouth. This makes hook removal much easier than removing a hook that's been swallowed. With many anglers now concerned with catch and release fishing, the circle hook is fast becoming very popular and used widely around the British Isles.
