This silicon tube is ideal when making both boat and surfcasting rigs. Silicon tube is great for making silicone stand offs, Pennel Hooks and sliding stops.

Silicon Stand Offs or Short Semi Rigid Booms are an excellent way to direct a snood line away from the main line of a rig body. By using a Silicon stand off, snood and rig body tangles can be avoided, helping to present bait much more naturally. A stand off is simply a length of tube cut approx 20-30mm, which is then slid over a snood line and snood swivel. The tube will also help to protect the knot attaching the snood line to the swivel from any abrasion.

Pennel Hooks are simply a second hook threaded onto the snood line before the main hook is attached. For added security a length of silicon tube can be slid over the pennel hook helping to keep it in place. Before you slide the silicon tube over the pennel hook make sure you twist the snood line around the pennel hook a couple of times first. Pennel hooks are a MUST when presenting large baits. Not only will this improve bait presentation, but will also double your chances of hooking a large fish.

Sliding Stops are very useful to the sea angler and can be used in many rig building applications. Commonly used as bait stops on snood and line tensioners on clipped down rigs.
