Pear leads are extremely versatile and can be used in a number of different sea fishing situations. A popular time to use a pear lead is when bait fishing for bass at short range or in the surf. Connect the pear lead to a simple running ledger rig and let the tide do the rest. As the pear lead has no grip wires, the rig including the bait are free to drift in the turbulent surf, this creates a lot of movement and triggers the predator instincts of the bass.
