The Boat Reel
The multiplier style of boat reel is by far the most popular reel amongst boat anglers today. These reels are available in a number of different sizes and cover just about any boat fishing situation. Whether you are targeting sea bream on light tackle, or hauling conger eels from the depths, there is a multiplier boat reel that will suit you. Large capacity spools, Fast retrieve, high or low gear settings and a drag system that will tame the wildest of fish are all reasons why these reels are still used today and will continue to be a firm favourite.
Many anglers now however are also opting to fish from a boat using a fixed spool type of reel. Once frowned upon by the boat fishing community the fixed spool boat reel is fast becoming the sport anglers preferred choice. The fixed spool reel is easy to use, extremely castable and now built to withstand the rigours of hauling monster fish from the deep.
